How to Throw an Aerobie

$0.00

Throwing Instructions
Unlike a frisbee which has a tendency to roll unless released with a downward slope, this compensation is not needed with the Aerobie disc or rings. If you want your ring to curve to the left, throw it sloping to the left, If you want your ring to curve to the right, throw it sloping to the right. You should throw your ring or disc with the printed side facing up, remember to release your ring level for straight flights. You can throw an Aerobit ring with either a backhand or a forehand throw. Backhand throws are more popular because they are easier to throw accurately. For control always grip the ring inside with several fingers.

Straighter Flights
To maintain straight flights a ring must be tuned occasionally, colliding with a solid objects can knock a ring out of tune. . If your ring turns left after being thrown level, you should bend it very slightly downward. With the top side of the ring up, hold the ring at opposing points in your two hands and bend the outer rim of the ring downward a couple times. Then rotate the ring 90 degrees in your hands and repeat the process. Throw the ring to see if more tuning is needed. If your ring turns right, tune the ring by bending upward instead of downward. Instructions for tuning your ring are printed on the rings' packages and also on the rings themselves. These instructions apply for backhand throws by right handed throwers. Reverse the instructions if your throw spins the ring in the opposite direction.

Safety

Play in a clear space so participants will not accidentally trip over or crash into cars, trees, poles and other hazards. Throw an Aerobie ring only to an alert person. Rings are more prone to get caught in a tree because a ring can get stuck on a branch or limb, making it difficult to shake free. Never throw a ring if light is insufficient to clearly see the ring in flight, you should always exercise caution while throwing any objects.
